Sustainable CityGrant Fuller/World Vision Update
An aerial view of Nuevo Juan del Grijalva.
Description
A mudslide in 2007 destroyed Juan del Grijalva, a poor village in the Mexican state of Chiapas. The governor responded to the crisis by moving the survivors to a new town. But the planned town had an unusual goal: it was built to be sustainable and community-oriented.
The move has completely changed the lives of the residents, most believe for the better. Not everyone, though, is convinced.
