How much are we willing to sacrifice to help the poor? That was the question facing 14-year old Hannah Salwen in Atlanta. Four years ago, she was upset at the disparity between the haves and have-nots of the world. Her concern ultimately led to a radical change in her family's lifestyle. They decided to downsize to a smaller house, sell their old house, and give half of the money to an aid organization called the Hunger Project, which used their donation to feed 30,000 hungry people in Ghana.

Her father, Kevin Salwen, says the poor aren't the only ones who benefited.
