Jared Ferrie

Jared Ferrie

Jared Ferrie is a freelance journalist and correspondent for The National Newspaper. He was born in Vancouver where he worked as a daily reporter for print and radio, but after reading one too many books written by foreign correspondents he decided to move overseas. Jared has reported from countries in West Africa and Southeast Asia, as well as Afghanistan and rebel-held territory in Sri Lanka. He currently lives in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Ruxandra Guidi Ruxandra Guidi is an independent journalist working in radio, print, and multimedia. She's based in Austin, TX, and reports regularly from the Caribbean, and both South and Central America.
Heba Aly

Heba Aly Heba Aly is a Khartoum-based freelance journalist. She has worked for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in both radio and television, as well as many of Canada's largest daily newspapers. She has also worked for the United Nations' humanitarian news service (IRIN) in Senegal, West Africa and Chad, central Africa. As a freelancer in Sudan, Heba has contributed news and features to various outlets, including the Globe and Mail, Christian Science Monitor, Public Radio International and IRIN. She speaks fluent Englsh and French, and also speaks Arabic and Spanish.
Kelley Weiss

Kelley Weiss

Kelley Weiss is a freelance journalist based in Northern California. Her stories air on NPR's Morning Edition, All Things Considered and Weekend Edition, The World and KQED Public Radio.

Kelley has worked as a photojournalist and staff writer for newspapers but has spent most of her time as a radio reporter specializing in health care coverage. In 2008 she won a national Edward R. Murrow investigative reporting award for a series on a hidden world of illegal prescription drugs sold at swap meets and botánicas.

Prue Clarke is an independent reporter specializing in Africa. She has exposed child slavery, corruption in foreign mining operations and a burgeoning child sex industry. Her reporting has won numerous awards in the United States and Canada.

Prue was previously a reporter with the Financial Times newspaper and the ABC.
